Our History
From a single founder selling finishing equipment to a 48,000 sq ft operation, SMF & Machine Tools has grown steadily over five decades — all while staying true to the values Jim Huntsman built this company on.
Founded by Jim Huntsman
Jim Huntsman established SMF & Machine Tools, beginning with the sale of finishing equipment and building a reputation for quality and reliability in the region.
Roger Huntsman Joins
Jim was joined by his son Roger Huntsman, who expanded the business to include fabrication equipment — broadening their offering and growing their customer base across the region.
First US Hyd-Mech Dealer
On December 1, 1982, SMF became Hyd-Mech Group Ltd.'s very first United States dealer — a partnership built on delivering production-efficient, durable machinery that has now lasted over 44 years.
New 48,000 Sq Ft Warehouse
SMF moved into a new 48,000 sq ft warehouse facility, located just 10 miles from the Little Rock National Airport — giving the team the space and logistics to serve customers at a greater scale.
Roger Huntsman Becomes President
Following the passing of founder Jim Huntsman, Roger Huntsman took over as President of SMF & Machine Tools, carrying forward the company's mission and continuing to grow its service offerings.
