PF-OBS Press
The Pacific PF-OBS, single cylinder, hydraulic press is a major advancement in hydraulic press design. It has been developed from the cumulative result of many years of field application experience to meet the demanding needs of today's high production metal stamping requirements.
The OBS - Series Pressformer has been specifically designed to perform all of the traditional functions of mechanical OBI presses in terms of application and production output. Combine this with the benefits of hydraulic controllability and versatility and you have a press ideally suited for: punching, blanking, perforating, coining, forming, bending, assembly work, deep drawing, or any work involving the production of large quantities of uniform parts.
All of the important operating and rugged construction features of hydraulic press design have been integrated into PF-OBS Series to enhance its high production performance and to assure press reliability.
A unique and innovative concept is the large double acting cylinder, which moves with the slide throughout the stroke range. The cylinder is inverted and flange mounted within the side to enable a hydraulic knock-out to be incorporated at the lower extremity of the cylinder. The slide assembly, is guided by long eight point, square-type gibbing for better support, alignment, and smooth operation at high stroking speed. This is the most positive type of gibbing that can be provided for a press and is usually found only on large straightside presses. Slide clearance adjustments can be quickly and easily made externally without the need of shims or set screws.
The OBS-Series Pressformer utilizes two of the greatest advantages of hydraulic press actuation.
1) Completely adjustable top and bottom stroke settings and
2) The ability to adjust press speed combinations for any portion of the stroke.
PLC Interface Controls permit these functions to be quickly and accurately adjusted for any press operation. Knock-out and speed change points are adjusted by a simple setting which enables the desired positions to be pin-pointed by precise measurement of the elapsed time expended in relation to the amount of stroke being used. This, together with the readily accessible die area from three different sides gives the PF-OBS Series the capability for unusually fast set-ups.
These presses are designed to offer maximum durability, performance and versatility. These "Open Back Stationary" presses are tomorrow's presses for today's metal stamping operations.
